Update on Metaversatility’s resident survey

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Just wanted to post a quick message thanking the 800+ community members who took time to respond to our resident survey. The frequency counts and cross-tabulations on the close-ended questions are revealing, and the respondents’ thoughtful responses to the open-ended questions are deeply informative. Our sponsors are committed to sharing the findings with the SL community, so you will eventually have a chance to dig through the data yourselves.

As a participation incentive, all survey respondents were entered into a drawing for SL prizes. The drawing has taken place, and we are currently tracking down the sweepstakes winners in world. Keep an eye on this blog for further updates about the sweepstakes and about the survey findings.

Thanks!

Big MV Day!

Friday, October 26th, 2007

Congratulations and a big thank you to the Metaversatility-Orange team for a successful press day! Thanks especially to the build team, Menno Ophelia, Colleen Desmoulins, Saeya Nyanda, Chip Poutine, and Kriss Lehmann, and to our community manager, Haver Cole!

In addition to an excellent day of sneak peek events on our biggest project yet, MV also celebrated its first incorporation anniversary today! I’d like to say we celebrated with oysters and champagne, but the reality is, I think we hardly noticed. With the Orange celebration concerts and the USC/Center for Public Diplomacy Jazzplomacy events tomorrow, in addition to a heavy project load and active, post-conference sales efforts, I have to admit, we’ve all been a little too busy to celebrate. Hopefully we’ll have time to break out the champagne soon!

Virtual Worlds: Audience and Numbers

Monday, October 1st, 2007

The folks over at Virtual Worlds News have posted a great summary of many virtual worlds and their reported audience (in both target and numbers).

The timing of this information couldn’t be much better, as the virtual worlds conference quickly approaches, a great venue to promote the virtual worlds space as a whole rather than focusing on just one specific implementation.
